Join us for an exciting programme of open studios as the Mulberry Gardens in 2026

The magical Mulberry Gardens is opening again for a great line up of artists and activities in 2026. But this time we’re opening not just once but for an amazing NINE different events. 

Entry to all events is free but donations towards the cost of materials and the upkeep of the gardens and the exhibits will be welcomed.

Planning your journey

  • Address: 225 Whitworth Road, Rodbourne Cheney, Swindon, SN25 3BX. Enter via the Dalek Gate!
  • Dates: See below
  • Opening Hours: 2:00pm to 7:00pm
  • Disabled parking only at the venue. On street parking opposite in Whitworth Road (3 spaces) or further along Whitworth Road, outside the cemetery (five minute walk). There is also on street parking in adjacent roads. Please park legally and respect our neighbours. 
  • By public transport, the nearest bus stops are: Number 11 0r 12 – Larchmore Close (2 minute walk),  number 15 – Northern Road, Cunningham Road (10 minute walk), number 5 – The Broadway (6 minute walk). 

Facilities available:

Cafe, selling hot and cold drinks, and a selection of snacks. Allergies catered for.

Toilets

Extensive gardens but with uneven paths, gravel and open ponds. Please wear sensible shoes and keep children close. We can only allow assistance dogs in harness in the garden due to the presence of livestock.

Garden Party

2pm - 7pm

Join us for a relaxed afternoon of creativity in the magical Mulberry Gardens. Our August garden party will feature creative garden crafts, make a hat or decorate a wreath.

If the weather is fine, bring a picnic and spread your blanket out on the lawn to enjoy a lazy afternoon in the garden. A selection of snacks and hot and cold drinks will be available in the Potting Shed Cafe.

David Boase Sculpture

This is David’s first time out as an artist in a few years and it all feels quite new again. He’s spent the last couple of months reflecting on the circle. Carving nothing but circles in fact. It’s been a really welcoming focus and good practice, coming back. 

His first trio will be on display along with other pieces he’s made and he’ll be here to chat and answer questions, share his process and enjoy the day.

Deepti Arora

Simply Arora

Deepti enjoys exploring and experimenting with different mediums and materials. Visitors will discover a variety of original pieces, including a new collection of textural paintings and glass art.

A rich and creative workspace featuring a watercolor painting of a yellow‑orange cat playing with a green ball of yarn. Around the artwork are scattered supplies including paint palettes, brushes, colored pencils, pens, paint tubes, folded paper shapes, jewelry pieces like rings and a pearl necklace, and a small fossil. To one side sits a wooden board holding a plate with crumbs from a partially eaten cake and a fork; the plate is printed with the words “CUPCAKES & BAKES.” The overall scene blends art-making with everyday objects, giving a warm, lived‑in, creative atmosphere.
Spellbound Arts & Bakes

Spellbound is a dream created by Kiki, artist & baker. Everything around her inspires her for creating her cute and sometimes bit strange art. You will find lots of cats, pumpkins, maybe a bat, but most importantly the most delicious cakes for everyone no matter their food allergies. She is looking forward to see you in The Potting Shed.

Jan & Geoff Arts

Jan and Geoff are mainly inspired by nature, plants and animals. Geoff creates sculptures in metal for both indoors and out, often using recycled materials. Jan uses acrylics, pastels, pencils and gel pens to create pictures of ravens, horses, hares and anything else that takes her fancy!

Stuart Malaure

Stuart works in watercolours. He experiments with different scenes and often get inspiration from Youtube artists. Stuart likes the challenge of showing textures and using wet on wet, wet on damp and other techniques for watercolour painting. He has his own style which show through his choice of subjects to paint.
